Psychological Operation Information System (PSYOPSIS) Files, March 1970–February 1973

A NARA series containing NIPS 360 FFS data files used for the Psychological Operation Information System (PSYOPSIS).

File Units

• PSYOPSA, 3/1970 - 2/1973: Contains information concerning surface activity, radio and television transmission and demographic statistics collected on a district level.
• SORTIEA, 3/1970 - 2/1973: Contains information about aerial activity associated with psychological operations.

The lenght of logical records in the NIPS data files is encoded as ASCII numerals. This is not expected according to the NIPS documentation (see also NIPS Data File.

Both NIPS data files are readable with PyNIPS (and NIPSTRAN).
