Hamlet Evaluation System (HES)
Relation between HES Basic Master File, NIPS Data Files
The HES Basic Master File seems to be the main database of HES containing all relevant data for operation.
NARA file units contain NIPS Data Files (see Hamlet Evaluation System (HAMLA) Files, 1967 and Hamlet Evaluation System 1970 (HES70) Files, 1970 - 1971). What's in the NIPS files? How and by whom where they generated? How do they relate to the Basic Master File?
HES Versions
There are a few distinct versions of HES (e.g. HAMLA, HES70). What are the differences? Do we have data to understand changes in the system at model evaluation level? What impact to the versions have on the data and on generated reports?
What are the derived files?
And how do they relate to the Basic Master File?
ADHES? HAMDA? VSSG?

Other Record Types
What is the significance of the other record types (Q

, M
, N
)? What process created them? Which processes used them?
See the note on NIPS Data File for more information and references to where these record types appear.
